"Volkswagen says it's way hotter than "Herbie," and we would be hard-pressed to argue. Tanner Foust's Red Bull Global Rallycross Beetle has been built from the ground up as a thoroughbred racecar. Foust, who was sponsored by Xbox and Forza during the 2014 GRC season, debuted the Beetle GRC at the Los Angeles leg of the 2014 Global Rallycross season and drove it the rest of the year to develop it to compete in 2015. With 540 turbocharged horsepower coming from the 1.6-liter motor and all-wheel-drive to get things moving, this is a Beetle like no other. In a straight line, this Beetle will see 0-60 in just over two seconds. In the corners, it drifts and cuts a turn with precision on any surface. It's a Forza first, and Forza Horizon 2 is the perfect environment to give it a good thrashing."
—Official description[1]
The 2014 Volkswagen Global RallyCross Beetle - also known as Volkswagen Beetle GRC [2] and abbreviated as VW GRC Beetle - is an AWD rally car by Volkswagen featured in Forza Horizon 2 as part of the Rockstar Car Pack, and as standard in Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 4.
Synopsis
The Volkswagen Global RallyCross Beetle is a rally variant of the Volkswagen Beetle from 2011 to 2019. It was given a wide bodykit, rear strut suspension and a 1.6 liter turbocharged inline-four engine with 536 hp (400 kW) and 387 ft·lb (525 N·m) of torque.[3]
It debuted at the 2014 Global RallyCross Championship, where it was prominently driven by Tanner Foust. The Forza series also features the Volkswagen #34 Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross Beetle, a newer variant equipped with a slightly more powerful 2 liter engine.
